Ellie Barrett, MA, LPC, enjoys helping clients build confidence and trust in themselves so they can achieve the life they envision for themselves. Her approach is collaborative, and she is committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves authentically. Ellie graduated with her master’s degree in international disaster psychology from the University of Denver.
Ellie loves working with adolescents (13-18) and adults (18+) for individual therapy. Her counseling speciality and passion is working with individuals with physical disabilities as well as those with chronic pain or illness. Additionally, Ellie is trained in supporting clients who have survived trauma from systemic and global influences, including natural disasters, pandemics, genocide, mass shootings, immigration, political unrest, and war. She also enjoys supporting clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, challenging life transitions, and relational conflict. Ellie is passionate about providing accessible and affirmative care to clients across ability, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, and size. While Ellie’s therapeutic approach is tailored to each client, she has extensive training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectal Behavior Therapy. She also commonly draws from Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
