Alexa Nugent, BS, Practicum Student, believes that every individual possesses an innate capacity for positive growth and healing. She is dedicated to providing a genuine, empathetic, and respectful environment where you can explore your experiences without judgment. Alexa understands that life’s challenges can often make us feel disconnected from our self-value, and she is passionate about helping her clients rediscover their internal strengths and potential.
Alexa has been serving with a non-profit over the last 6 yrs helping facilitate community events and community outreach for all ages. She works with adolescents and adults, offering a collaborative approach to therapy. Her practice is grounded in Person-Centered values, ensuring that you are the expert of your own life. She also integrates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Choice Theory, helping clients examine the relationship between their thoughts, behaviors, and core needs for belonging, freedom, and empowerment. By identifying ineffective patterns and learning more adaptive ways of thinking, Alexa supports her clients in choosing a path that aligns with their goals and values.

Alexa is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University. She is excited to join the Original Path Counseling team as a Practicum Student and future Intern.
