Joelle Sanpei, BS, Intern, is passionate about meeting clients where they are at and assisting them in addressing their life challenges. Joelle acknowledges that no individual is exempt from experiencing difficulty in life and we all need support at one time or another. In applying a strengths-based and client centered approach, Joelle recognizes that each person comes from a unique set of experiences, history, and background. She prioritizes providing all individuals with a safe space and assistance in curating, achieving, and sustaining their personal goals.

Joelle enjoys working with adolescents (12-18) and adults (18+) who are looking for support as they address life’s difficulties. With a variety of hands-on experience in the mental health field including working with children, adolescents and adults, Joelle incorporates techniques from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and is currently training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

Joelle is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver, after graduating from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Equine-Human Science. Joelle is continuing her education in equine-human interactions and has a passion for helping clients understand the importance and therapeutic benefits that animals can have in our lives.

Availability: In office Wednesdays and Thursdays 2:00pm-8:00pm, and Fridays 10:00am-4:00pm.
